As one who lived, worked and knew the key players in this so called history, about all I can say is the author must have been a bouncing baby boy who bounced on his head once to often. If it was a well written piece of crap that was entertaining I might have rated it a three star. Save your money and wait till these books end up on ebay. A delightful memoir written in the style of Jean Shepherd. The Illinois of Larry Weirather isn't far from the Indiana of Jean Shepherd in family life, town characters, heartfelt warmth and wry humor. If I wasn't reliving my own childhood found on the pages, I was chuckling about Larry's. Our individual lives may be our own but they are never far from the next person's. Never Outta the Woods surely makes that statement ring true. After "The Christmas Story," I can see "The Logger's Story" becoming our next modern American film classic!
